My Blog for SLU...a gift for you!!!

Saint Louis University: The Light of the North. It's motto, Sapienta Aedificat meaning "Wisdom Builds" has been the basis of the University's goals to help students. It was founded in 1911 by the CICM (Congregatio Immaculati Cordis Mariae) which was headed by Reverent Father Séraphin Devesse to further Christianize Northern Philippines. He founded a one-room elementary school consisting of 10 local boys and named it Saint Louis University. Since it's founding in 1911, it will soon be celebrating it's 100 years of being a CICM Catholic School - The SLU Centennial.

Saint Louis University as a Catholic Institution aims to help students achieve their goals. This is exactly what it has been doing for the past 100 years. It is proper to celebrate the SLU Centennial to show our appreciation for helping it's past and present students reach their life goals. Being the best at what it does, SLU forms the hearts and minds of it's students so they can fully reach their life's potentials.

It's faculty and staff is the friendliest in the world. They are fun to hang out with and you can even crack jokes with them. Even when you make fun of some of their mistakes, they would not mind it and may take the joke to the next level. Although I advice you not to take the joke seriously and spread the word. The faculty and staff is very open and welcomes all kinds of problems. You can ask teachers questions regarding your academic performance and may get a little tutoring. The guidance counselors can help you with all of your problems in life not because it is their job but because they love helping students in a way. The principal is easy to get along with and does not isolate himself with everybody else. I can not mention all the great things that the school staff has done for me so I will just summarize it all in one sentence: The SLU faculty and staff is the best!

It is hard to think of how I can repay Saint Louis University for the things it has done for me, much less thinking of all the things it has done for me. To start, I think that the best way for me to repay SLU for everything is just doing my best as a student coming from a great Catholic Institution. It is just that being a student in SLU is a great help in itself because it is my tuition fee that pays the faculty and staff. Aside from the money that my parents pay the school, my scores and grades helps give a good name for SLU making parents want to send their children to this wonderful university. In making SLU one of the best schools in Baguio and possibly the Philippines, every student must do their best to make SLU known to all. This is one of my biggest dreams for SLU for the upcoming years. This blog is just a simple way of showing my appreciation for Saint Louis University on it Centennial celebration.

"A one-room elementary school in Baguio means a Saint Louis University for a hundred years."

"Time passes by.Try a little harder. Make every minute last longer. Learn to forgive and forget because we don't have long, make the most of it. Make the most of every moment. Stop saving your best for last."
